The Silent Companions

An amazing read that kept me begging for more. I love that we get three different subplots, with ongoing stories happening 200 years prior to the haunting of the main character, up to when she's left the house and being treated in an asylum. It's a very clever way of orchestrating a narrative, and shows how the spirit's activities connect over time. And OMG that ending! Man, that hit hard.
It was very interesting how all the men in the book end up being secondary characters. It's refreshing to have a horror book filled with strong women, and not the usual damsels in distress.
